Imam Foundation Organises the Makkah Forum

Within its program to train Muslim minority imams, the foundation hosted its annual gathering for imams from Northern Europe in Makkah. Participants had the opportunity to perform Umrah and benefit from various training courses. These courses focused on matters related to the affairs of Muslim minorities in non-Muslim countries. The sessions revolved around researching the Sharia' rulings applicable to Muslim minorities in non-muslim countries, encompassing aspects such as worship like congregational prayers, personal matters such as marriage and divorce issues, as well as financial transactions, among others.

The course emphasised the jurisprudence of Islamic political principles in both our classical jurisprudential heritage and contemporary reality. It underscored the adaptability of Sharia' within its regulated framework, demonstrating its relevance across time and place. Furthermore, it highlighted an aspect of the jurisprudence of legitimate coexistence among Muslims and others under the concept of citizenship.

Dr. Aabid Al-Sufyani conducted a course on legal courts, discussing the impact of Sharia' courts on understanding the jurisprudence of minorities. Dr. Ayoub Al-Ayoub presented a course on personality types and how imams can benefit from understanding them.

As part of the forum’s activities, participants visited various places, including the Presidency for the Affairs of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. They were received by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the General President and Imam of the Holy Mosque, who provided an overview of the Presidency's  activities in serving minorities. He praised Imam for its role in this regard and presented the Foundation with an honorary shield at the end of the meeting.

Partcipants also visited the Rajhi Mosque, where they learned about its impressive activities, as well as the esteemed Kiswah Factory and the exhibition on the Prophet's life, among other landmarks.
