Imam Training and Development honors the oldest Muslim in Ecuador

IMAM Foundation for Training and Development honoured the first Muslim in Ecuador, the honoured; Sheikh Yahya Juan Soquillo. The foundation presented the Sheikh with its honorary shield, which was presented to him by Dr. Muhammad Ali Bla'o, the president of the foundation, and Dr. Abdul Wahhab Al-Tarifi. This was in appreciation of his efforts in spreading Islam in his country and taking care of Muslims.

The foundation praised the role of Sheikh Yahya Juan and his efforts in spreading and promoting Islamic values ​​in Ecuadorian society, and his opening of the first mosque in Ecuador.

It is worth noting that Sheikh Yahya Juan is the president of the Ecuadorian Islamic Center and is working on a project to prepare Latin imams. In recognition of his efforts in spreading Islam and helping new Muslims in Ecuador, he was selected for the "500 Most Influential Muslims in the World" list in 2009
